Shyam Kanu Borthakur (b. 1954) graduated from Dibrugarh University, Assam in 1976. He completed his Diploma in Fine Arts, from Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship and studied Fine Arts at College of Visual Arts, Kolkata under the tutelage of Shri Shuvaprasanna. He has participated in several solo and group shows, and has received various awards, fellowships and grants. Shyam’s signature style is the portrayal of bold and beautiful beasts in firm strokes and shades. He is equally proficient in various mediums and his works include Drawings, Paintings and Sculptures.
